Empowered Sistarz Program​

AAEW proudly offers the Empowered Sistarz Program for young girls aged 13-18 in the community. This transformative program provides mentorship through innovative inspiration, guidance, friendship, and valuable resources to uplift underprivileged girls. Our mission is to foster success for young women by promoting commitment to community, dedication, hard work, and education.

Empowered Sistarz equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools they need to thrive throughout their lives. Through positive guidance, constructive reinforcement, and mentorship from inspiring role models, young ladies develop a deeper understanding of:

• Career pathways and potential

• Community involvement

• Educational success

• Personal and professional growth

• Secondary education opportunities

Why Mentorship Matters

National and state statistics highlight the life-changing impact of mentorship. Mentored youth are more likely to excel academically, build healthier relationships, and avoid risky behaviors such as drug or alcohol use. They are also more likely to develop self-confidence and a sense of purpose.

After 18 months in a mentorship program, participants were shown to be:

• 48% less likely to begin using illegal drugs

• 27% less likely to start using alcohol

• 52% less likely to skip school

• 37% less likely to skip a class

• More confident in their academic performance

• One-third less likely to engage in physical altercations

• More likely to experience improved relationships with family and peers
