AAEW will provide the young ladies ages 13-18 in the community with Empowered Sistarz program that provides mentoring using innovative inspiration, guidance, friendship, and resources for young and underprivileged girls.  We are devoted to the success of young girls aboard.  By promoting the importance of commitment to community, dedication, hard work, and education, Empowered Sistarz provides young ladies with beneficial knowledge, skills and tools that will last a lifetime.

Though guidance, constructive reinforcement, and encouragement from positive influences and role models, Empowered Sistarz helps young ladies build important understandings of career pathways, community involvement, educational success, personal growth, professional development, secondary education, career potential, and much more

National and State statistics show that individuals who are mentored are more likely to improve in school and in their relationships with family and peers, and less likely to skip school and use illegal drugs or alcohol. 

 

Students who are successful in school are less likely to drop out, become pregnant, abuse drugs or become involved in criminal activity.  The success of young ladies who are mentored is apparent in the following statistics:

Researchers found that after 18 months of being involved in a mentoring program, proteges were:

• 48% less likely to begin using illegal drugs

• 27% less likely to begin using alcohol

• 52% less likely to skip school

• 37% less likely to skip a class

• More confident of their performance in schoolwork

• One-third less likely to hit someone

• Getting along better with their families
